Des médias somaliens ont fait état dimanche de la mort de quatre personnes et de la disparition de centaines de bêtes à cause de la grande sécheresse qui frappe actuellement plusieurs régions de la Somaliland, au nord-ouest de la Somalie.

La chaîne de télévision  »Calsan » a diffusé un reportage sur les régions frappées par la sécheresse où de nombreuses bêtes ont péri, indiquant que des centaines de personnes et de bêtes sont confrontées à la menace de mort à cause de la soif et de la chaleur dues à l’absence de pluies.

Plusieurs régions du centre, du nord-est et du nord-ouest de la Somalie souffrent d’une vague de sécheresse très grave, à cause de l’absence de pluies saisonnières de l’automne et de l’hiver derniers, signale-t-on.
