La Cedeao annule son annonce d’un sommet africain contre Boko Haram

La Cedeao, qui a annoncé dimanche la tenue d’un sommet le 8 avril des dirigeants d’Afrique centrale et d’Afrique de l’Ouest contre le groupe islamiste nigérian Boko Haram, a ensuite publié un démenti, sans toutefois préciser si le sommet était déplacé ou annulé.

La Communauté économique des États d’Afrique de l’Ouest (Cédéao) avait publié dimanche, en fin de matinée, un communiqué, annonçant la tenue d’un sommet conjoint des chefs d’État d’Afrique centrale et de l’Ouest à Malabo, en Guinée équatoriale, dans le but d’adopter une “stratégie commune de lutte” contre Boko Haram.

Malentendu

Mais en fin d’après-midi, l’organisation ouest-africaine a envoyé un nouveau message à la presse dans lequel elle demande de “considérer SANS OBJET le communiqué (…) sur un sommet des chefs d’Etat de la Cédéao et de CEEAC (Communauté économique des Etats d’Afrique centrale) devant se tenir le 8 avril 2015 à Malabo”.

“Nous nous excusons vivement de ce malentendu”, ajoute la Cédéao dans ce second communiqué, sans fournir plus de précisions.
